Death of Fr. Clyne

I attended St. Pat's as an undergraduate and postgraduate student and knew and respected Fr. Clyne as President of the College. I was deeply saddened to hear of his illness and recent death. I extend my sincere sympathy to his family and to his colleagues in St. Patrick's College. As a participant in the Wider Horizons Program in the USA, which Fr. Clyne facilitated, I gained an insight into the professionalism, kindness and generosity of this distinguished modest man. May he rest in peace.

Ni fheicfimid a leithéad arís.

I was a student in St. Pat's as an undergraduate and a later as a postgraduate and knew Fr. Sammy Clyne as both a lecturer and President of the College. In fact we got to know each other quite well as I was originally from Moate and he was acquinted with my dad. Afterwards, I was to have many enjoyable encounters with him. He was a source of inspiration to those who came in contact with him and had a profound influence on us all. I will always remember him with great fondness. May he rest in peace.
