COLLINS John Daniel, Professor Emeritus died April 25, 2012. His wife Phil, sons John, David, Kevin and Daniel, daughters-in-law Orla, Annette and Janet and eight grandchildren, his brother Eddie and sister-in-law Lelia, his uncle Andy and his many relatives, remember Dan with deep love, affection and admiration. To all of Dan's friends and colleagues, from his student days in the Veterinary College in Ballsbridge and throughout his career in University College Dublin, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and later, in the European Food Safety Authority, we offer our deepest gratitude for the friendship, kindness and support given to him and to us throughout his period of rehabilitation and subsequent final illness. We also warmly acknowledge the dedication and friendship shown to Dan by the staff of the Stroke Unit in the Royal Hospital Donnybrook, and the great compassion and care shown by all the medical and nursing staff and by Father John of St. Vincent's Private Hospital during his final illness. Our sincerest gratitude to Fr. Clarke, P.P. of the Sacred Heart Church, Donnybrook, also to Fr. Harper, S.J., Curate, and to Fr. Little, C.S.S.p. of St. Michael's College, for concelebrating the funeral Mass. To dear colleagues, neighbours and friends who came to Dan's funeral, who sent Mass cards and heartfelt messages of sympathy, who wrote glowing obituaries, who called to our homes, and who were simply there for us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It would be impossible to reply to everyone individually. Therefore, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.Suaimhneas síoraí duit.
