DARCY Ria (Rathfarnham and Morriscastle, Co Wexford) died September 27, 2011. On this, the first anniversary of Ria's death, we, her husband Edward, her daughter Niamh, her sons Riain, Hugh and Eoin and their wives and partners would like to thank all who sympathised with us on Ria's passing. We have been overwhelmed by the way Ria's life has touched so many people and the large crowd at her funeral was indicative of this. Many thanks to all for travelling long distances to attend Ria's wake and funeral in such dreadful weather. A big thanks to all those who helped us in our home by bringing food, baking, making tea and cleaning up. We would like to thank Rev. Fr. Oliver Powell Opus Dei and Fr Richard Behan of St John the Evangelist Church in Ballinteer for celebrating Ria's Mass. We would particularly like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses in St Vincent's Private Hospital who looked after Ria so well over such a long period of time. To all her Bridge friends we pass on our sincere appreciation for their presence and support and also to our great neighbours who did so much for us around this difficult time. We want to thank our wonderful relatives and friends for all their support in the last year. Ria was loved by so many and is missed by all. We, her family, miss her chats, singing, advice, opinions, great cooking, love of shopping, half finished sudokus/crosswords around the house and so much more - but mainly, we miss her vibrant presence daily. We are all so lucky to have had Ria in our lives. Ria's Anniversary Mass will be in Clarendon Street Carmelite Church on Sunday, September 30 at 11 a.m.
