BATES - J. Ray, Sandymount (January 6, 2024). Natasha and the Bates family, with Alex and family, wish to thank most sincerely those who sympathised with us at the time of Rays death. We thank everyone who attended the Wake, Funeral Mass and Burial in Kilmore Quay and who sent Mass cards, letters and messages of condolence. Special thanks to celebrants Fr Bill Cosgrave and Fr Pat Mernagh and to Dr Peter Lynch for the eulogy. We thank Rays neighbours, wide circle of friends and former colleagues at Met Éireann, UCD, U. Copenhagen, MIT, RIA, RDS, Elm Park Tennis, Goethe Choir, Irish Meteorological Society, ICSF, KQ Boat Club and classmates /PPU of St Peters College Wexford. We thank the staff of St Vincents and Blackrock Hospice for all their care. To all the above we express our deepest gratitude.
