MURTAGH - Stephen (Wicklow Hills, Newtownmountkennedy, and late of Tinnahinch House, Avoca, Co. Wicklow), April 17, 2026, peacefully, aged 45 years and after a short illness, surrounded by his much loved and loving family, and while in the exceptional care of the team at The Cedar Ward, St. Vincents Private Hospital, Co Dublin. Remembered with love by his heartbroken wife Evelyn, cherished daughter Lucia, parents Nigel and Dolly Murtagh (née McIntyre), brother Eoin, nephews Billy (Godson) and Culann, niece Alice, parents-in-law Margarita and Oscar Eli, sisters-in-law Valerie and Leemarg, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, colleagues in Bank of Ireland, neighbours and his wide circle of friends, including everyone at Newtown Juniors FC.

Reposing at Mark Kinsellas Funeral Home, 1 Main Street Newtownmountkennedy (A63X456) on Monday evening (April 20) from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass to celebrate Stephens life at 11.30am Tuesday (April 21) in St. Anthony's Church, Kilcoole, Co Wicklow (Mass may be viewed, live only, via this link https://gkpastoralarea.ie/st-anthonys-church-kilcoole-​webca​m/), followed by burial in Kilmurray Cemetery, Newtownmountkennedy.
