For Oscar
Dear Oscar, the school contacted me today (Tuesday) about the very sad death of your beloved Dad. I wish I had found out in time to attend his funeral. I am so sorry, Oscar, to hear of his passing. From my brief interactions with him at parent-teacher meetings (and one great 'aul fella to aul fella' saddo chat about the 80s and being young at an SPS summer 'do'), I found your Dad to be a warm, direct and charming man. This is a difficult time for you and I hope you manage it okay. Be gentle with yourself, and do whatever it is you need to do to help you carry the loss. I will be thinking of you, Oscar.
