To Deirdre and family sincere condolences on the death of Hastings. I only met him on three or four occasions. I found him to be a very warm and friendly gentleman, one of the old school. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I only met my Great Uncle Hastings several times as a young child, but my hazy memories are of a kind and respectable gentleman. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

Vale Uncle Hastings, you were truly inspirational to me: generous, warm, calming, eloquent, a great listener and learnt. You made the world a better place and you will be sadly missed by so many but your spirit will live on very many years to come. Rest in peace Uncle Hasting. Piera Fusco
