BOLGER John (Kilkenny and late of Ferns, Co. Wexford) died August 26, 2014. On the First Anniversary of John's death, his wife Elaine, his children Dermot, Elizabeth, Marguerite, Pat, Raymond and John Brian, his sister Eleanor Doyle and all of their families, would like to thank everyone who joined us in celebrating the unique and generous life of a good man. To all who called to our home, who came to the Removal and Funeral, who sent cards and letters and who shared their memories with us. We were touched with how many past pupils of Kilkenny College spoke and wrote to us about their inspiring and unconventional teacher and posted their memories on social media. We thank the then Mayor of Kilkenny Cllr Andrew McGuinness and the members of Kilkenny County Council who accompanied the hearse from our home, the students of Kilkenny College and the members of Kilkenny Water Safety and the Probus Group who provided guards of honour and John's many former colleagues and friends from his work in teaching, politics and civic involvement particularly with the homeless and Amnesty International. We thank Father Willie Purcell, Monsignor Kieron Kennedy and the Priests from Kilkenny, Wexford, Glenstal Abbey and Trim and Ministers of the Church of Ireland who celebrated a memorable Funeral Mass beautifully accompanied by the choir of Kilkenny College. We invite you to join us at John's first Anniversary Mass in St Mary's Cathedral, Kilkenny at 10.00am on tomorrow, Sunday, August 30 and afterwards at home in Blackmill Street."If thou would'st have all,
seek nothing";
St. John of the Cross.
