BYRNE, Fionnuala, St John’s Abbey, Circular Road, Tuam, Co Galway - June 10, 2020, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Brooklodge Nursing Home, Ballyglunin, Tuam. Predeceased by her sister Nessa. Formerly of the James Hardiman Library, NUI, Galway. Deeply regretted by her husband David Burke, children Miriam, Aoife and Colum, son-in-law Eddie Wilson; Aoife’s fiancé Dermot Arnold; sisters Riana (Tuam), Dervilla (Maynooth) and Miriam (Toronto); brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Funeral Mass tomorrow (Friday) at 1o’c in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam, followed by burial in Tuam Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Irish Alzheimers Society would be appreciated. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, house is private. A celebration of Fionnuala’s life will be held at a later date.
