CLARKE, (née Egan) (Killiney Co. Dublin and late of Ringsend) - December 6, 2018 (peacefully), with dignity and elegance as she lived every day of her life, Catherine (Kate), beloved wife of John and loving and devoted mother of John, Paul, Keith, Jennifer and Gary, proud grandma to Ceilí, Zöe and Molly and mother-in-law to Sharyn and Graham, eldest daughter of Sadie and the late Eddie and Big Sis to Patrick, Michael, Paula, David, Colm and Ailish. R.I.P.; sadly missed by her loving family, Keith's partner Veronica, aunts, uncles, her many relatives and a wide circle of friends. R.I.P. Reposing at Patrick O’Donovan & Son Funeral Home, Sallynoggin (opp. Sallynoggin Church) this (Tuesday) evening from 2 o'c. to 6 o'c. with family in attendance. Removal tomorrow (Wednesday) morning to St. Patrick's Church, Ringsend, arriving for 11.30 o'c. Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to The Blackrock Hospice or St. Vincent's Hospital Oncology Department, Donation facilities will be available in the church. House Private.
CLARKE - The family of the late Catherine Clarke of Killiney, Co.Dublin and formerly of Ringsend, Dublin, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by members of her family on December 6, 2018 wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and those who visited our home, attended her wake, Mass and burial and who provided so much loving support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, sent text messages, travelled long distances many from abroad, sent floral tributes, Mass cards and messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations we are truly grateful. We thank our customers, the Ringsend and Irishtown community, our many friends and colleagues in the licensed trade, your support was tremendous. A special word of thanks to the management, doctors, nurses and staff of St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, St. Columcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown, Co. Dublin, the Ambulance Service, Dublin, Our Lady's Hospice, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, The community healthcare team, all of who cared for Catherine with kindness and dedication. We also wish to thank the Garda Síochána, Irishtown Road for their help and assistance on the day of Catherine's funeral with a special mention to Garda Anthony Moran and Superintendent Colm O'Malley. To the members of Stella Maris and St. Patrick's Rowing Clubs for their guard of honour, remembering the late Boy Murphy and Larry Dunne and all in our community who carried Catherine's remains home in true Ringsend tradition. We wish to extend our thanks to Rev Father Ivan Tonge, Rev Father Fergal McDonagh and Monsignor Dan O'Connor, Deacon Tom Groves, Sister Maria, Sadie Fitzsimmons and Liz Gannon, and the volunteers who keep our church the envy of the city. To Jimmy Barnes, the Dublin gospel choir and all who helped to make Catherine's Mass a wonderful celebration of her life. To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions and to remember Catherine on Sunday, December 8th at 12 noon in St. Patrick's Church, Ringsend.
