(Monkstown and Dungarvan) (First Anniversary May 3, 2021) - In loving memory of Commodore Joe Deasy late of the Irish Naval Service on the First Anniversary of his passing. His family, Carmel, Orla, Conor, Carol Anne and Susan would like to express our heartful thanks to our kind neighbours, relatives, friends and colleagues of all the family who visited and called us, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters of sympathy, enrolments, condolences and messages. Our sincere thanks to Commodore Michael Malone, Flag Officer Irish Naval Service for the guard of honour and the flag ceremony at our home, church, and graveside. To the Diving Unit, Irish Naval Service for their roadside tribute on Joe’s final journey, and to Captain Ken Minihane and colleagues for the final salute. Our thanks to Joe’s Naval colleagues and friends for their amazing tributes and stories on RIP.ie and on the Irish Naval Service Facebook page. A special thanks to the late Commander Rory Costello for all his kind visits to Joe during his illness. To his Douglas Probus friends, a sincere thanks for all the meetings and outings and for all your messages and stories on RIP.ie. Our thanks to Father Sean O’ Sullivan, Monkstown parish and to Father Des Campion, Naval Chaplain for the lovely funeral mass and prayers at the graveside. To Fiona O’Reilly and Patrick Killeen for the beautiful music and singing at Joe’s funeral mass. To Nick Moynihan and staff at the Bosun, thanks for the memories. To the staff at O’Connor’s pharmacy, Douglas, our thanks. Our gratitude to the care team at Cramers Court Nursing Home who cared for Joe in difficult circumstances. Sincere thanks to Kevin and Brian O’Connor at O’Connor’s Funeral Home for their sensitivity and support. Thanks for all the floral tributes. We trust this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as a token of our deep appreciation.
