WHELAN, Capt. Declan (Clonskeagh, Dublin) February 27, 2022, formerly of the Air Corps, Aer Lingus and the NRB. Peacefully (in his 92nd year) in the wonderful care of all in Vergemount, Clonskeagh. Loved and loving husband of Brenda for 65 years, and dear father of Barbara, Adrienne, David, Una and Brian. Proud grandfather of Orlaith, Niall, Eoin, Cillian, Kevin, Declan and Liên, and great-grandfather to his six great grandchildren. Sadly missed by his brother Kieran, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Niall and Brian. May he rest in peace. Reposing at his home from 4.00pm to 7.00pm tomorrow (Thursday). Removal on Friday morning (March 4) to the Church of St Thérèse, Mount Merrion, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.00am (which can be viewed live at this link: https://www.mountmerrionparish.ie/webcam/), followed by cremation at 12.15 pm in the Victorian Chapel at Mount Jerome (which can be viewed live at this link https://www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/).
