HUGHES, Fr. Gerard (Gerry) (Essex, England and late of Terenure, Dublin) - June 14, 2015, (peacefully), in the loving care of the Sisters and staff of Nazareth House Nursing Home (Southend- on- Sea, Essex, England). Retired Parish Priest of Christ The Eternal High Priest (Gidea Park, Romford), son of the late Mary and Patrick Hughes (Terenure, Dublin). Predeceased by his sisters Rosaleen, Maura and Tona and brothers John and Paddy. Deeply regretted by his brother-in-law Jerry Cullen, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. Also by Bishop Alan Williams, the priests of the Brentwood Diocese, parishioners of Gidea Park and Sisters and staff of Nazareth House. Rest in Peace. Removal on Thursday, July 9 to St. Joseph's Church, Terenure arriving at 6 pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, July 10 at 10 am followed by burial at Bohernabreena Cemetery, Tallaght. I did the readings at Father Gerry's mass, I served at his altar, he watched me play rugby, he met my future wife on the touchline and 35 years ago he married us..RIP my friend

For twenty eight years we were lucky enough to have Fr. Gerry as our parish Priest in Gidea Park. He is sadly missed. RIP. Carver Family.
