HUGHES - Winifred (née Moore) (Templeogue, Dublin), August 31, 2021. As we lovingly remember Winifred on her ninety second birthday (September 30), her children David, Paul, Jenny and Mark, her daughters-in-law Connie, Deirdre (Coughlan) and Emer (Devery), son-in-law David (Madden) and her grandchildren Amy, Alan, Kevin, Aoife, Ellen, Eimear, Áine, Kate, Anna and Ella would like to express our deepest gratitude to our families, friends, neighbours and colleagues for all the kindness, support and sympathy shown to us during Mum’s short illness and recent death. Mum’s wish to remain at home to the very end was only possible with the fantastic support of her carers, her doctors in Deansgrange Medical and the home care team from Our Lady’s Hospice and Irish Cancer Society, so sincerest thanks to each of you. A big thanks to Fr. Gerry Moore for visiting Mum during her final days and for the beautiful celebration of Mum’s life; as well as all those involved in the mass particularly Elizabeth Woods, Evelyn Hearns, Eimear and Áine Madden for the music. Mum would have been so pleased! We were humbled and honoured to be joined in the funeral home, in the church and online by so many but particularly by Mum’s brother John, her many nieces and nephews, her lifelong friends and neighbours. The guard of honour formed by her neighbours as the hearse passed her house was such a beautiful tribute to her and something we will fondly remember, so thank you. Thanks also to the team from Massey Brothers, Templeogue for guiding us through the funeral arrangements and service with such professionalism and care. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation. Mum’s month mind mass is taking place in St. Pius X Church on Saturday, October 9, at 7pm and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered in thanks for your kindness and support, the following Saturday. Mum is missed hugely and will always be remembered but she is now at peace and reunited with her beloved husband Michael.
