SLEIN Gerard (First Anniversary - died July 7, 2013) - The family of the late Gerard Slein would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the relations and friends who showed such support and kindness on the death of Gerard. Gerard's wife Lila, sons Mick, Anthony, Gerry, Derek, daughters Cíara, Aileen, grandchildren Michael, Katie, Seán, Sophie, Anthony, Cathy, Aisling, Gerard, Rachel, Sarah, Chenelle, Christian, Nathan, Doire, brothers Micheál, Séamus, brother-in-law P.K., cousin May Tyrell (Mattimoe), daughters-in-law Laura, Trisha, Breda, Penny and sons-in-law Tom and Nathan and all the extended family were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support, kindness and genuine solidarity shown by family and friends and it was a true reflection of how much Gerard meant to so many. We would especially like to thank all those who travelled from Boyle and the West of Ireland. Boyle held a special place in Gerard's heart and it was heartening that so many came to pay their respects. The family would especially like to thank Fr. Willie Stuart for his ongoing support and spiritual guidance to Gerard and family during his illness and his continued support and friendship since Gerard's death. We would specially like to thank Glenn Dupree (Lila's nephew), who travelled from Uganda at short notice to represent Lila's family from Texas. There are not enough words to thank everyone for the endless show of love and support - whether you were at the funeral services, sent a card, made a phone call, dropped in with meals/food parcels, sent flowers or generally helped out over the time of the funeral and the weeks and months following Gerard's death - Thank you so much - it really meant so much to each and every one of us. Lastly, we would just like to say that although Gerard is missed deeply by all of us, there is some consolation in knowing that the depth of our pain and loss is a reflection of how wonderful it was to have shared our lives with Gerard, and that our memories of all the happy times will eventually give us solace.
