CASSIN - Monsignor Jim, (Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny), who died 5th June 2020., On the First anniversary of his death. Jim is greatly missed by family, neighbours, friends, colleagues, former students, and by all whom he served in a variety of ministries over 48 years. He befriended many people on the pilgrimage of life and appreciated their friendship too. Jim’s brother Paddy wishes to express his thanks to so many people who joined in the Funeral Mass, in person or distanced, to all who lined the route to the Cemetery, and who observed with respect and sensitivity the public health restrictions that applied at his funeral. Thanks to Archbishop Dermot Farrell, then Bishop of Ossory, who presided at the Funeral Mass. Thank you to all who offered their prayers, sympathies, and support at Jim’s death. A word of thanks to all who took care of Jim’s medical needs, and to the family of the one whose lung was donated so that Jim could live life more fully for the past few years. Jim will be remembered at an anniversary Mass on Friday, June 11 at 7.00pm at the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown. As it is difficult to thank everyone individually, the holy sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
