O'BRIEN, Fergus, (Ranelagh, Dublin, former Lord Mayor of Dublin and T.D.) - October 19, 2016, (peacefully), at home, surrounded by his loving family, beloved husband of Peggy and loving father of Tom, Suzanne, Michelle, Emer, Cathy and the late Lynda; very deeply regretted by his brother Joe, sister Kathleen, daughter-in-law Caroline, sons-in-law Ray, Niall and Stephen, grandchildren Christine, Donal, Sally, Alex, Peter, Hannah, Georgia, Robert, Mark, Julie, Patrick, Kate, Joe and Olivia, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. May he rest in peace. Reposing at his home this (Thursday) evening from 5.00 o'c until 8.00 o'clock Removal tomorrow (Friday) morning to St. Teresa's Church, Clarendon Street arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30 o'c and then to Shanaganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross.
O'BRIEN, Fergus (Ranelagh, Dublin 6), October 19, 2016 - His wife Peggy, children Tom, Suzanne, Michelle, Emer and Cathy, his brother Joe, sister Kay, his grandchildren, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, and extended family wish to acknowledge and thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on our sad loss. We are especially grateful to our wonderful friends who supported Fergus and the family during his illness. We thank those who attended at his wake and funeral Mass, sent cards, letters and messages of sympathy. Thank you to Fr. Christopher Clarke, OCD, who celebrated the funeral Mass and the wider community in Fergus' beloved St. Teresa's, Clarendon Street. We will always remember the kindness and care shown by the doctors, nurses and staff in Blackrock Clinic. In particular, we extend our thanks to Dr. Fennelly and Dr. Victory. To Tina, Erik, Lorna, the District Nurse Emma and the Hospice Homecare team who cared for Fergus in his final weeks, we cannot thank you enough. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.May he rest in peace.
