McCARTHY, Kieran (T.K) (Gortatleva Bushypark, Galway, N.U.I.G, formerly Salthill, Galway and Cork City) (peacefully) March 13, 2019 surrounded by his loving family; Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his wife Frances, daughter Micheline, sons Cormac and Aongus, aunt and godmother Sheila, sisters and brothers, son-in-law David, daughters-in-law Liz and Natasha, adored grandchildren Eilish and Tadhg, relatives and friends. Reposing at home in Bushypark on today (Thursday) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Removal tomorrow (Friday) morning, to St. James' Church, Bushypark to arrive for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon. Funeral after Mass to the adjoining cemetery. House Private on Friday morning. Family flowers only please. May his gentle soul rest in peace

Our deepest condolences. My husband and I met him at an eel passage conference in Ontario Canada. We briefly corresponded via email regarding our shared Irish heritage. He was a brilliant scholar and a delightful person. - Dawn Reiss
