HASSETT, Dermot (Jerome) (Monkstown, Co Dublin) January 9, 2022 in his 94th year. Unexpectedly but peacefully, in the exceptional care of the staff at Newtownpark House Nursing Home. Dearly beloved husband of Thérèse, loving and caring father to Joanne and Leo. Dermot will be greatly missed by his loving family, grandchildren Iseult, Sadbh, Katie, Rose, Luka and Daniel, daughter-in-law Helen, son-in-law Ronan, his sisters-in-law Dorothy, Usha, Aileen and their families, his brother-in-law John and his family, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, members of Blackrock College Rugby Football Club, Monkstown Hockey Club, Killiney Golf Club and also his former colleagues in B+I Line. Rest In Peace. Funeral Mass on January 14 (Friday) at 11.00am in St Patrick’s Church, Monkstown followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. For those that cannot attend, the Mass can viewed using the following link: https://www.churchservices.tv/monkstown. A personal message for Dermot’s family may be placed in the ‘Condolences’ on www.irishtimes.com. The family have requested we all remember to remain respectful of current restrictions and remain safe at this time. The house shall be private.
