MURPHY, ARTHUR

MURPHY, Arthur H. (Killiney, Co. Dublin), November 20, 2021, unexpectedly but peacefully in the tender care of the staff of ICU, St Vincent’s University Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, devoted children Gavin, Lorna, Rory and Barry, daughters-in-law Katy and Adele, lifelong friend and cousin Alan, David and extended family, friends and former colleagues. Joining the Commercial Union from school, he gave years of respected service to Hibernian Insurance until his retirement. Past Captain Killiney Golf Club, Captain Letterkenny Golf Club, Past President Monkstown Rugby Club. Known as “Grumpy” (also Gumpy, Bumpy) to his adoring grandchildren, Finn, Zoe, Oscar, Digby, Bonnie, Eli, Georgia, Alexandra, Winnie and Daisy. He now joins his father Arthur, mother Doreen, and his beloved aunt Winnie. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Arthur’s Funeral Service will take place at 11am tomorrow, the 25th November (Thursday), at St. Paul’s Church, Glenageary followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium. No flowers please.
