WALSH - Bishop Willie - The family of the late Bishop Willie Walsh, Bishop Emeritus of Killaloe diocese acknowledge the public and private response to his death and wish to express their thanks for the support they received at that time. Sincere thanks to the following: Bishop Fintan Monahan for his great kindness, the President's Aide-De-Camp, members of the Hierarchy who attended, Father Tom Ryan and the priests of Ennis parish and the diocese of Killaloe, Willie's own doctor Dr Tony Cox, the ambulance crew and other first responders on the night of his death, the Gárda SÃochána on the night and on the days of his reposing and funeral, Daniel Kennedy Undertaker and his staff and grave diggers who dealt sensitively with laying-out, reposing and burial, the students of St. Flannan's College, Rice College, the Gaelscoil and Eire Ãg for the Guards-of-honour, Maura Brooks and the staff of the presbytery and parish office, the staff of Bishop's House, Westbourne, the Cathedral Choir and the Forever Young Choir for contributing to the beautiful liturgies on both days, the Cathedral sacristans, the Eire Ãg ushers in the cathedral and grounds, Angie Gough for her tribute, local and national media for their coverage of events, all the organisations Bishop Willie was affiliated to, from sport to the many good causes he championed. Special thanks: to the many friends of Bishop Willie who travelled from near and far to bid him a final farewell, the people of Ennis parish and the diocese of Killaloe and nationwide who attended, or viewed online his reposing or funeral Mass. A Mass of Thanksgiving will be offered for the intentions of all. Bishop Willie's Months Mind Mass is on Friday, March 28 at 7.30pm in Ennis Cathedral.
