RIP Canon Mark

It's with sadness I learn of the passing to glory of Canon Mark Diamond. Yet am glad to say I had the privilege of knowing the Canon both as a priest and as a teacher and friend while resident in Ballina. We met regularly at His house to study ancient Greek, a small group of us, which he taught for free and to discuss the New Testament scriptures as we understood the meaning of the original text. My sincere condolences to his extended family and particularly Joan Costello whose cheerful hospitality made of the group a small family. Rest in Peace Canon Mark Diamond

-Danson Kole, Kenya

A Saintly good Priest

I was privileged to have known Canon Mark, a saintly gentleman and great priest. He was ecumenical long before it was heard of, he reached out to others and was generous to the many who called to his door. He served in three parishes when there was no electricity in either, but before he left all three the lights were switched on,no doubt die to his efforts. Of him it can truly be said Ní bheidh a leithéad ann arís.
