COLLERAN, Dr. Emer, (Oranmore, Co Galway and formerly Ballinrobe, Co Mayo), June 30, 2018, in the care of the staff at University Hospital Galway. Formerly Professor and Chair of Microbiology at N.U.I. Galway, member of the Heritage Council and Royal Irish Academy, former member of the Council of State and former Chairperson of An Taisce. Predeceased by her brother Denis; sadly missed by her sisters Nuala (Monahan), (Ennis) and Noreen (Dublin), brother John (Galway), sisters-in-law Anne and Peg, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and a wide circle of friends and former colleagues. Cremation has taken place at Mount Jerome Crematorium on July 5.
