VELLA, Leo, FRCS (Eng,), FRCSI (Irl.), FFAEM, Late of Valletta and Dartry. His wife Anne, children John, Leonie, and Conor and extended family would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us when Leo died peacefully at home on June 14, 2014. We would especially like to thank his doctors, Regina Bradford, Ciara O'Shea and Attracta Heffernan, and the very caring staff of St Vincent's Private Hospital, especially oncologist nurses Caroline Dowling and Paul Lanham. We will be forever grateful for the kindness of those who travelled far and wide, sent messages of sympathy, visited our home, assisted at his Wake, attended his funeral Mass and Cremation. A special word of thanks to his colleagues from the Irish Accident and Emergency Medicine Association for the Guard of Honour at the Church. Leo would have been thrilled to see his friends honour him in this way. Please accept this Acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation and gratitude. Together with his Maltese family, Leo's ashes were scattered in St Paul's Bay, Malta, December 11, 2014."Take nothing from the river,
leave only your footprints"
