DALTON - John (late of Ballinakill Downs, Waterford, Retired Principal Officer, Revenue Commissioners and Member of Waterford Golf Club) Died June 12, 2022. Predeceased by his parents, Pierce and Catherine and his brother Pat. Survived by his wife Ann, son Conor, daughter-in-law Serenity, grandson Pierce and his nephew Eamonn. Will be sadly missed by his sisters Sr. Eleanor Dalton, Delia Douglas, Catherine Murphy, Ber McWey and his brother Joe, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Funeral took place on Wednesday, June 15, in St. Mary’s Church, Ballygunner, Waterford, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

DALTON - John (June 12, 2022) (Shorewood, Ballinakill Downs, Waterford). As we lovingly remember John on his first anniversary, his wife Ann, son Conor, daughter in law Serenity, grandson Pierce, and extended family, wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on our sad loss. A special thanks to our families, friends, neighbours, and colleagues who supported us through his illness. We very much appreciate all the tributes on RIP.ie, cards, letters, and messages of condolence. Thank you to all who attended John’s funeral service, your presence was greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Dr. Anne Horgan and all the wonderful staff at University Hospital Waterford, Whitfield Hospital, the Palliative care team, Carrigdhoun Surgery and the Ambulance staff. We are so appreciative of the great care you all gave to John during his illness. Thank you to Fr. Liam Power who celebrated the funeral Mass and the members of Waterford Golf Club who formed a guard of honour. We are most grateful to Anne and Paul and the staff of Tom Hennessy Funeral Directors for guiding us through that difficult time with such kindness and respect. We miss John very much, but he will always be remembered with great love for his warmth, kindness, great sense of humour, keen intellect and integrity. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep appreciation.
