O'DEA - Gina (née McHugh), (Malahide Co. Dublin and Dunmore Co. Galway First Anniversary). Our beloved Gina left us on April 16, 2020 after a long illness which she bore with determination, courage, positivity and great spirit. Her husband Larry along with his children Caroline, Helen and Jack, Gina’s sister Maria, brothers Patsy, John and Michael, and mother in-law Nuala wish to express their sincere thanks to everyone who extended their sympathies and gave us such overwhelming support, kindness and compassion at the time of our loss and over the past year. Gina displayed incredible kindness, generosity and love throughout her life and in doing so touched the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

We are so grateful to friends and neighbours who lined the road after the funeral mass in tribute to Gina, and to everyone who gave us invaluable support with mass cards, letters of condolence, messages left on rip.ie and the many floral tributes. We wish to express our gratitude to Fr Michael Casey and Fr Kevin Moore for making Gina’s mass so personal and uplifting and a special thanks to the musicians and singers Jennifer, Marianne, Morgan, Peter and Pat, music and song were a big part of Gina’s life.

Particular thanks to Dr Siobhan Glavey, Dr Philip Murphy, Nurse Avril Fury and all the nurses and staff in the Coleman K. Byrne unit in Beaumont Hospital and to Dr Carol Mooney, Dr Aogan Rooney and the staff at Railway Avenue Medical for the exceptional care and support given to Gina over so many years. We also acknowledge and thank the Irish Cancer Society, St. Francis Hospice and the Malahide Bethany team for their support and good council.

Thanks also to all our relatives, our many close friends, Gina’s former work colleagues in CDYSB, Gina’s friends from the Grove Tennis Club, Malahide Tidy Towns, Malahide Allotments and The Malahide Parish Pastoral Council. Please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our deepest gratitude.
