LEYCOCK, Very Reverend, Dermot, Pastor Emeritus (Church of the Guardian Angels, Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock, formerly of Killarney, late of the parishes of Killester, Marino and former Chaplain of Mountjoy Prison) March 23, 2025. Peacefully, at his residence. Beloved son of the late Francis and Teresa, loving brother of Antoinette, Gwen, Miriam and the late Carmel. Very sadly missed by his sisters, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family, many colleagues and friends, especially Marie Therese who worked with and cared for Fr. Dermot for many years, Archbishop Dermot Farrell, Bishop Donal Roche, Fr. Philip Bradley, Canon Anthony Gaughan, Fr. Bill Fortune and Fr. Michael Murtagh. Removal tomorrow (Wednesday) evening to the Church of the Guardian Angels, Newtownpark Avenue arriving at 5pm. Funeral on Thursday morning after 10am Mass to Shanganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Fr. Dermot’s ‘Solar Panel Fund’ for the church at: www.newtownparkparish.com.
