MAHER - John G, Rathgar, died September, 7, 2023. On this, the first Anniversary of John’s death, we, Betty, Barry, Clare, John, Ruth and Billy wish to thank all who have been so kind to us over the past year, and before. We particularly wish to thank everyone in Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, where John spent his last three months, the staff of St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Elm Park, Dr. Declan Cantwell and the staff of St, Enda’s Family Practice. Our sincere thanks also to Fanagan’s Undertakers for their kindness and sensitivity at that time, to Father Paul Kenny, Administrator, and the Parish Team at the Church of St. Columbanus, St. Gaul and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Milltown, who facilitated us when many of the clergy were in Lourdes for the Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage. We especially thank Father Patrick Ryan, MHM, for his sensitive celebration of John’s Funeral Mass. Not least we thank John’s wider family, his friends and neighbours, and ours, for the “little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love”. Mass has been offered for the intentions of all.
