CLARKE, Monsignor Dermot (Whitehall and former P.P. Aughrim Street), July 7, 2017. Son of the late Gerry and May Clarke. Deeply regretted by his sisters Marie (Collins), Deirdre, Ann (McNamee), brother Kevin, nephews, niece, extended family, friends, parishioners and by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and clergy. May he Rest in Peace. Reposing at his home on Monday evening from 4 o'c until 7 o'clock Removal on Tuesday evening to The Church of the Holy Family, Aughrim Street arriving at 7 o'clock Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 11.30 o'c followed by burial in Balgriffin Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Irish Cancer Society.
CLARKE Monsignor Dermot - Dermot's sisters Marie (Collins) Deirdre, Ann (McNamee) and his brother Kevin, sincerely thank our extended family, many friends and neighbours and all those who supported us in our great loss. We wish to extend our warmest appreciation to Dermot's many friends, parishioners and neighbours, Dermot's class of '63, those who called to the house, those who travelled long distances to support us on this sad occasion. To all the clergy who attended Dermot's Reception into the church and his funeral Mass. To all who sent Mass cards and messages of condolences. We greatly appreciated Archbishop Diarmuid Martin who received Dermot's remains into the church and for his moving Eulogy. We would like to thank most sincerely our President Michael D. Higgins for his attendance at Dermot's funeral Mass. Mr. David Gallagher and his Oncology Team in the Mater Hospital, also St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown for their kindness to Dermot during his illness. Fr. Paddy Madden, the choir and team in Aughrim St. Parish where Dermot served for almost twenty years as P.P. Our special thanks to Fr. Damian Farnon the chief celebrant and Dermot's fellow priests who concelebrated his funeral Mass. A special thanks to Fr. Liam Murtagh who supported Dermot in his final days. To Bourke's Funeral Home for their professionalism. To those who contributed to the Irish Cancer Society. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. Please accept this acknowledgment in appreciation of your support and kindness during Dermot's illness and at the time of his death. An Anniversary Mass will take place in The Church of the Holy Family, Aughrim Street, on Sunday July 8 at 1130am.
