ANDERSON Douglas B.Sc., H.Dip.Ed - Sunday, September 4, 2011 (peacefully). Former headmaster of the Royal School, Cavan. Former President of the Irish Schoolheads Association, member of the Board of Management of Cavan No. 1 Primary School and former Chemist, McCarren's, Cavan. Devoted husband of Hazel (née Hewitt). Predeceased by his father, the Reverend John Anderson, mother Martha (née Long), step-mother Katherine (née Burns), and brothers Cyril (Cavan), Clive (Harare, Zimbabwe) and Bill (Cavan). Survived by his brother Henry and sister-in-law Betty (Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada), their daughters Sharron, Sheelin and Cheryl, as well as in Johannesburg, South Africa by nieces Lee and Shaunagh and nephew Ross. Sadly missed by the family circle, relatives and friends. Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan this (Tuesday) evening from 7 o'clock until 9.00 o'clock. Funeral Service tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12 noon at Cavan Parish Church followed by burial at Drumcree Parish Churchyard, Portadown. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, in support of Hazel to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland c/o John or Philip McMahon, Funeral Directors, Cavan. House private please. "At Rest"
