NORTHEN - William Patrick, (Havant, Hampshire, formerly Island Bridge, Dublin) on October 17, 2021, peacefully in hospital aged 91. He will be sadly missed by his son and daughter, David and Stephanie, and his grandchildren Alex, Thomas, Sophie and Chloe. Rhoda, his loving wife for over 60 years, predeceased him by a few months. In the 1950s, Billy was awarded a scholarship to study physics at Trinity College, Dublin under the tutelage of the nobel laureate Ernest Walton, and then went on to work for RTE before emigrating to the UK and leading a successful career with Plessey Avionics. He never lost his intellectual curiosity, his restless energy and his sense of humour. He was lovingly cared for by the staff of Woodspring House in Fakenham, Norfolk, and will be missed by all there who enjoyed his cheeky smile and his fondness for Irish music - together with a pint of Guinness.
