BYRNE John Gabriel (Blackrock, Co. Dublin and formerly Rathfarnham and Palmerstown). Retired Professor of Computer Science, Trinity College. April 16, 2016. (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at Newtownpark House Nursing Home. Beloved son of the late Brendan and Doreen. Deeply regretted by his cousins, relatives, friends, colleagues and students at Trinity College. Reposing tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Oratory Newtownpark Nursing Home from 3.00pm followed by removal to the Church of the Guardian Angels, Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock arriving at 5.30pm Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 10.00 o'clock followed by burial in Esker Cemetery, Lucan, Co. Dublin. Family flowers only please.

Professor Byrne made enormous contribution to the development of Computer Science in Trinity College Dublin. He proved himself to be a man of vision as many of us could not imagine such a rapid and useful development. Soul rest in peace.
