WHYTE, Captain Jim, Master Mariner, Clarina, Co. Limerick and formerly of Monkstown, Co. Cork. Retired Harbour Master Shannon, Foynes Port Company and formerly of Irish Shipping. August 25th 2025 peacefully at Milford Care Centre, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Kate. Dearly loved father of Aidan and Richard. Sadly missed by Aidan’s partner Steph, twin brother Joe, sister Joan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. May he rest in peace. Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street (tomorrow) Thursday (28th August) from 5pm to 6.30pm. Funeral arriving at St. Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue on Friday (29th August) for Requiem Mass at 11.30am followed by cremation service at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork at 5pm. Jim’s Requiem Mass will be live-streamed on https://stjosephsparish.ie/webcam/ Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Milford Care Centre or the RNLI.
