MacDONALD, Donal October 16, 2022 - (Foxrock, Dublin 18 ) passed away after a long battle bravely fought in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Michael's Ward, St. Vincent's University Hospital Beloved husband of Pauline and loving father to Arlene, Keelin and Ross. Predeceased by his brothers Norman S.J., Gerald and Dermot. Donal will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife and children, grandchildren Saoirse, Oisín, Liam, Ciara, Ríona and Ellie, his brothers Jimmy and Paddy, sister Caroline, sons in law Pierre and Kivanc, daughter in law Kelly, his Columban fathers, extended family, relatives and friends. Reposing at his residence today (Tuesday) from 5.00pm to 7.000pm. Funeral Mass to take place tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 11.30am in Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please. On the first anniversary of Donal’s death (October 16, 2022), Pauline, Arlene, Keelin and Ross, together with his brothers Jimmy and Paddy, and sister Caroline and all the extended family, would like to express our deep gratitude to all those who helped Donal through his illness and gave us great solace on our bereavement. Thanks to Frs Pat Raleigh, Tom O’Keeffe, Brendan and Cyril Lovatt, Val Coyne and all priests present on the altar, for the beautiful and meaningful service for Donal. Thanks to everyone who sent Mass cards, letters, messages of condolences and memories summing up Donal so well and his big contribution to the community. We would also like to extend further gratitude to family members and wonderful friends with their great gestures of kindness. To all those who attended Donal’s wake and funeral on the wettest of days. Thanks to Masseys’ funeral team, Tom, the Sacristan and musicians who so enriched the Mass. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.
Your presence we miss, your memory we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never.
