NEWELL, Fr. Eamonn O.F.M (Franciscan College, Gormanston, Co. Meath) - February 1, 2013 at the College Castle. Deeply regretted by his sister Sinéad, brothers Michael, Martin and Johnny, brother-in-law Michael, sisters-in-law Goretti and Marie, nieces, nephews and extended family, his Franciscan Brothers and friends. R.I.P. Removal this Monday evening to the College Chapel at 7 o'clock. Funeral Mass tomorrow, Tuesday at 11 o'clock. Fr Eamon was my house master in Gormanston college. He was a great mentor and latterly friend. He also presided over my wedding in UCC many years ago. He was also a skilled fly fisherman and looked forward to escaping during his holidays. He was one of the good people.

Mark Donnelly Eamonn taught me mathematics in Gormonston. Even though I hated Gormonston I loved Maths and Eamonn was the greatest teacher. I have only recently become aware of the passing of Eamon and I wanted to share my sadness

<p>RIP</p> <p>Only discovered this sad news today. Remembered with fondness particularly from his time at our family home in Birmingham with his brother Marty (Summer 1959?).May his eternal soul Rest in Peace.Dermot Winston</p>

<p>RIP</p> <p>Have only recently heard of the passing of Fr Eamonn when I was visiting Gormanstown college where my brother Karl is buried. Fr Eamon was always a very kind, gentleman man.</p>
