HAYES, Valerie (née Nugent), (Delgany, Greystones, Co. Wicklow), February 14, 1948 - June 28, 2017. My lovely Valerie completed her life journey at 1pm Wednesday, June 28 at home, surrounded by our loving children, Samantha, Victoria, Byron and Lydia, following an aggressive cancer illness. Her death is deeply regretted by her husband Frank, children and grandchildren; Sophie and Leila, her brothers, sisters, sister-in-law, and extended family, and a wide circle of friends, political comrades, and associates. She will repose at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, Co. Wicklow tomorrow (Saturday) July 1, from 3pm to 5pm. A Humanist Service in Celebration of a Life Completed, will take place at Colliers Funeral Home on Sunday July 2 at 3pm. This will be followed immediately by a reception in honour of Valerie's life, work, and friendship at The Esplanade Hotel, Strand Road, Bray, at 5pm. House private. Family flowers only please.
