GREENE Edward (Blanchardstown, Dublin 15) Following his recent passing (August 15), Valerie, Alan and Norma wish to express our sincere thanks to Professor Orla Hardiman and all the team in Beaumont Hospital for their specialist, exceptional care shown to Edward during his illness. We also would like to thank the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association for their invaluable practical and emotional support and assistance. A special word of thanks must also go to those who helped us care for him at home - Lisa (Community Occupational Therapist), the staff of the Central Remedial Clinic (Clondalkin), his carers (Comfort Keepers) and the Palliative Care Teams of the Blanchardstown and Raheny Hospices. We would also like to acknowledge the kind and gentle ministry of Canon Paul Houston, Rev. Eugene Griffin, Ms Stella Obe and Bishop Paul Colton. We have been very touched by the many people who visited our home, attended his funeral, sent cards and letters of sympathy and who gave so generously to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association in his memory. We are grateful to all our family, neighbours, friends, work colleagues, sporting clubs and church families who have helped us through Edward's illness and for their constant support as we try to adjust to life without a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be forever missed.
