O'CONNOR - (William Hugh). Cork and formerly of Portlaoise - April 13 2023. On this his First Anniversary, HUGH’s wife Rosaleen, children Adrian and Karyn, his sister Judy, his brother Joe and extended family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to our families, friends and neighbours for their many acts of kindness and constant support during Hugh’s illness. Hugh enriched the lives of so many and his unending generosity will always be remembered.
The family would like to sincerely thank all who helped to console us with expressions of sympathy, phone calls and who attended Hugh’s Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Douglas and afterwards at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy. Heartful thanks to all attending priests and especially to Fr. Patrick O’Mahony who celebrated Hugh’s Mass and for his consoling words. We would particularly like to mention members of the Rafeen Creek Golf Club for their thoughtful gesture at the church. Your presence there meant the world to us. Sincere thanks also to Jerh. O’Connor Funeral Directors for their professionalism and invaluable help throughout the funeral arrangements.
Lastly, we wish to thank all who called, wrote letters and sent cards, had Mass offered, left messages of condolence and for sharing your special memories of Hugh; his big heart, gentle spirit and kind soul touched so many. It was a great comfort to us knowing that so many people were with us at this sad time. We are especially grateful to the Medical and Nursing Staff of the Mercy Hospital, Cork for the wonderful and compassionate care of Hugh in his final days.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, due to lack of contact details, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our deep appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
