O' NEILL, Des (Lt. Colonel. Retired) (Athlone) Who died on July 2, 2011 (First Anniversary) - Des's wife Mary, daughters Desna and Emer, sons Martin and Brian and our extended family wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to everyone who sympathised with us on our sad and sudden loss. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Tullamore Hospital, the ambulance crew who tended Des following the accident and to an Garda Síochána for all their help. Our heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful friends and neighbours for their help and support. A special word of thanks to Canon Liam Devine for his compassion and support at this very difficult time. Sincere thanks to Des's Army colleagues and friends for all their support and kindness. Special thanks to those who participated in the military escort, also the Garda escort. Thanks to the priests who con-celebrated his funeral Mass and all who contributed in any way. To everyone who called to our house, sent Mass cards, flowers, letters of sympathy, all who attended Des's funeral Mass and internment, especially those who travelled long distances, we sincerely thank you.His humanness honoured all who knew him and was offered to all he met
May it abide in our hearts forever.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Des's Anniversary Mass will be held today, Monday in Ss. Peter and Paul's Church at 7.30pm.
