KAVANAGH - Des (Taylors Hill, Galway City, formerly Clonmany, Donegal) 19 January, 2026; peacefully surrounded by those he loved. Deeply mourned by his wife Mary and sons Ronan and Conal. He will always be fondly remembered also by his daughters-in-law Liz and Laura, and by his grandchildren Anna, Tom, Eve, Ryan, Callum and Charlie, by his much-loved brother and sister, Fidelma (USA) and Terence (USA), brother-in-law John, nephews and nieces, former colleagues, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his precious and beloved son Rory and his older sister Maeve and husband Billy and sister-in-law Mary Jane. On this Thursday, 22 January, 2026, Des will lie in repose at the family home from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. On this Friday, 23 January Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Des on arrival at St. Joseph's Parish Church, Presentation Road at 11 a.m. (H91 YA30). Following Mass, he will be laid to rest with his beloved son Rory in Rahoon cemetery. Mass will be live streamed.
