CULLETON, Irene (née Hayes) - Today we should have been celebrating Irene's 72nd birthday, had Our Lord Jesus, God of Mercy and Compassion, not sent for her on April 30, 2008. R.I.P. Our many relatives, friends, neighbours, fellow members of Donabate Golf Club, L.L.G.U., Toastmasters, Santry Golfing Society, F.B.D., colleagues from St. Pauls, Tim Finnegan's, Xtra Vision, and of the Engineering/Legal professions - all of you were of immense support and consolation to us. Callers to the residence, attendees at the obsequies, the multitude of Mass cards, messages of sympathy, numerous acts of kindness, donations to Cancer Caring, all attest to the esteem with which Irene was deservedly regarded. We are deeply grateful to Doctor Mary Tierney G.P., to the Bon Secours Hospital, Doctor Grogan, the medical and nursing staff, Chaplains Rev. Father Bill Ryan, Sister Goretti and her team, who gently protected Irene's quality of life, and provided spiritual guidance to the end. Thanks are due to Donabate's P.P. the Very Rev. Fr. Paddy O'Byrne, to our good friend Fr Simeon, and to Fr. Eamonn from Gormanston College for the Service on the Friday evening and for concelebrating the funeral Mass, with such courtesy and grace, that the soloist, organist and harpist made the occasion seem joyous and serene. We wish to especially mention Pat and Alan for their unstinting assistance at all times and for the impressive floral arrangements at our home, in the Church and at the graveside. The Guard of Honour, and the escort of Irene's removal to the cemetery, by current and former Captains and Lady Captains of Donabate Golf Club, was a marvellous tribute and a much appreciated final salute to Irene, Lady Captain 1993. We, Irene's family, should like to sincerely thank everybody personally, and hope this will prove possible in the near future. Meanwhile, all your intentions will be remembered at Holy Mass (11 o'clockockock) on Sunday, July 5 in Donabate Parish Church. God Bless You.
