DOYLE, John George (Bray, HJ Byrne & Greystones R.F.U) – February 1, 2024, peacefully, in the loving care of Mary and Gillian Mangan and the fantastic team at Kinvara Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Eldest son of the late Maureen, Elsie and Jack Doyle. Brother of Peter, Michael and the late Paul Doyle. Deeply missed by his beloved wife Mary (née McGovern) and his children Bartley, Colm and Johanna. Regretted by his much loved daughters and son-in-law Macriona, Sally and Peter. Adored “John John” to Doireann, Saorla, Jack, Levii and Logan. He will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, a large circle of friends and his two four legged friends Lobo and Trixie. Reposing at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray tomorrow (Tuesday) from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. A Celebration of John’s Wonderful Life will take place on Wednesday (Feb.7) at 11.30, in the funeral home, followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park, Ballycorus Road. Family flowers only please. Donations, in John’s name, to Festina Lente.
DOYLE - John George (February 1, 2024) (Bray and Shankill). At the time of his First Aniversary we remember John with great love and sadness at his loss. His wife Mary, his children Bartley, Colm and Johanna, his grandchildren Doireann, Saorla, Jack, Levii and Logan, his in laws, Macriona, Peter and Sally, his brothers Peter and Michael and the entire Doyle and McGovern families would like to thank all who helped celebrate his life and who have supported us during John's long illness and throughout this year. We would like to thank our wonderful GP and friend, Dr John McManus who was with John throughout his long illness, Mary and Gillian Mangan, Kinvara House Nursing Home for looking after John so tenderly in his final months, and Stephen Collier of Collier's Funeral Home for supporting us so professionally. Our heartfelt thanks to our friend Alan Edge for his humour and guidance at the celebration of John's life, to the President and Past Presidents of Greystones Rugby Club for their guard of honour, to our families, friends and colleagues who attended in huge numbers at the funeral home and at Kilternan cemetery and to all who sent letters, cards, flowers and messages of condolences. We will forever be grateful to you all.
