MORAN OCD, Fr. Willie, (Woodford, Co. Galway and Avila Carmelite Centre, Dublin) – May 24, 2023, peacefully in the care of Our Lady’s Manor, Dalkey after a long illness borne with faith, courage and serenity. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary Ann (née Loughnane) and his brother Michael. Deeply regretted by his sisters Mary and Teresa, brothers Andrew and Fr. Gerard, brother-in-law Murray, sister-in-law Anne, nephews, niece, grand-nieces, grand-nephew and extended family, his Discalced Carmelite brothers and sisters and many friends. Reposing at Avila Carmelite Centre, Donnybrook on Sunday, May 28 from 1.00pm -to 5.00pm. Requiem Mass in St. Teresa’s, Clarendon Street on Monday, May 29, 2023, at 11.30 am, (which may be viewed on the following link; clarendonstreet.com/live/), followed by removal to the Abbey, Loughrea, Co. Galway. Reposing at the Abbey Church from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Fr. Willie’s funeral Mass will be streamed live on the following link; kilboys.com/kilboys-live-stream/. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, May 30 at 12.00 noon followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Fr. Willie’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to their extended family, neighbours and friends for all their kindness and help. May he Rest in Peace.

As one of his students when he was Dean of St Therese College Castlemartyr it was an absolute privilege to know him. He took brilliant care of us, with humour and firmness when needed but always the utmost care and kindness. He was a terrific role model and I am very sad to hear that the world is now without him.
