NEILL - March 7, 2015, Dermot (Retired Garda Sgt, An Garda Síochána) Rathfarnham, D. 14, formerly of Upper Grand Canal St. D. 4, (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at the Mater Private Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends following an illness bravely borne. Pre-deceased by his brothers Michael and Denis. Beloved husband of Fiona, devoted Dad to David and Ali. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son and daughter, brothers Jimmy, Barry, Donal and Pat, sisters-in-law Margaret, Phyllis, Ena, Madeleine, Mary, Regina, and Denise, mother-in-Law Phyl, nephews, nieces, former colleagues, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May he Rest in Peace. Removal from his residence to the Church of The Annunciation, Rathfarnham tomorrow (Tuesday) evening arriving at 6 o'clock Funeral on Wednesday after 11.30 o'c Requiem Mass to Newlands Cross Crematorium. NEILL Dermot (Retired Garda Sgt.), (Rathfarnham, Dublin 14), died March 7, 2015. His wife Fiona and family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to their extended family, relatives, friends, neighbours, Dermot's former colleagues and school pals for their support, help and kindness. To all who called to their home, attended Dermot's removal and Funeral Mass, sent Mass cards and many beautiful letters, and to those who donated to the Cancer Society, thank you. Our gratitude to Fr. Joe Kennedy, Chaplain of An Garda Síochána, Fr. Martin Noone, PP Rathfarnham Parish, soloist Tom Tuite, organist Marie Cruise and instrumentalists from Wesley College Killian White and Martina O'Connell under the directorship of Paula Dowzard. A special thank you to Dermot's close colleagues who performed ceremonial duties with dignity and humility. To Prof. McCaffrey, his team and all the nursing staff at the Mater Private Hospital, thank you for the wonderful care given to Dermot throughout his illness. Our sincere appreciation to Massey Bros. Funeral Directors, Templeogue Village who organised everything so professionally and with great dignity. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deep appreciation and gratitude. Dermot's First Anniversary Mass will take place in the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham, this (Saturday) evening at 6.45pm. Also, Mass will be offered for your intentions on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10.45am in the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham.
