MURDOCH, Davida (née Franklin) (Dalkey, Killaloe and formerly Sligo) – January 31, 2024. Peacefully at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital Dublin, under the wonderful care of the staff of the Cedar Ward, and surrounded by her family. Beloved wife for over fifty years of Henry and devoted mother of Maeve and Breffni. Davida will be dearly missed by them, by her sisters Wendy and Doreen, and their spouses Frank and Eddie, by her son-in-law Ahmed, daughter-in-law Rebecca, and seven grandchildren – Amira, Daisy, Nabil, Luke, Malik, Bonnie and Tamara, by her nephew Alistair, by her extended family, and by her wide group of friends from her Loreta schooldays and her working time with Aer Lingus, the members of her book club, and the members of the Friends of the Library (Trinity College Dublin) and the Irish Austrian Society. Cremation took place at Mount Jerome Crematorium on February 2, 2024. At Davida’s request her funeral was private and her ashes will be interred in the grave of her infant son Joseph Henry (twin of Breffni) who died in 1975. A series of memorial lunches will be held later with her friends. Donations, if you wish in lieu of flowers or cards, to the charity National Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation, Rochestown Avenue, Dun Laoghaire. - “in memory of Davida Murdoch”.
