RUANE, (née Kilkenny), (Bonniconlon, Ballina, Co. Mayo and late of Kiltormer, Co. Galway), June 28, 2017 in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Our Lady of Knock Ward, The Galway Clinic, following an illness bravely borne, Geraldine (retired Principal of Gortnor Abbey Secondary School). Dearly beloved wife and best friend of Willie, mother of Brian (Maynooth), Sinead (Darwin, Australia) and Fionnuala (Ballina). Geraldine will be especially missed by her adored grandchildren Jack, Toby, Ciara and Rory. Sadly missed by her brothers Frank (Portumna), Tony and Ollie (Kiltormer) and Father Michael (Rome), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, neighbours and her many past pupils. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Nora and her sister Marian (Hanney). Reposing at her home tomorrow (Friday), June 30 from 11am to 8pm with removal to the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bonniconlon arriving at 8.30. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 1pm followed by burial in Bonniconlon cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Breakthrough Cancer Research care of Gallagher's Funeral Home, Bonniconlon.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam Dílis

Rest in Peace Geraldine. Great company traveling with you all a few summers ago to see Mayo play in Croke Park. Devoted to family and very interesting person. Sorry for your loss Willie. Patricia M in Chicago.
