JOHNSTON, William Derek, (Mullagh Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan), May 27 2016, in his 76th year. The Venerable William Derek, former rector of the Virginia group of parishes, Archdeacon of Kilmore, after a long illness bravely borne at St. Colmcilles Nursing Home. Loving husband of Sheena and dear father of Gail, David, Meriel and Emma, grandfather of Andrew and Anna, Karl, Amy and Harry, Eva, Charlie, and Luke, Patrick and Annabel. Lovingly remembered by daughter-in-law Ann Marie and sons-in-law Mark, Christian and Peter, and extended family and friends. Monday May 30, house private, Funeral service at 2pm in Virginia Church of Ireland Parish Church. Burial afterwards in adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland."Nearer my God to Thee"
