SHAW, Thomas D., August 25, 2017, (Monard, Dublin Road, Mullingar), (suddenly and unexpectedly). He adored and was adored by his wife Yvonne and much loved children John, Tom, Sandra, Anne, Freddie and Jillian. Loving brother of Maeve (Murphy) and Felicity (Cuthbert), father-in-law of Eileen, Kate, Padraig, David and Johnny and the most special grandpa to his adored 12 grandchildren, also regretted by his nephews, nieces and extended family. We know Tom will be dearly missed by his friends, colleagues in the legal profession and by his clients he served so professionally in his 57 years as a solicitor. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace. Our dear Tom will be reposing at Shaw's Funeral Home today (Monday) August 28 from 3 o'c until 6 o'c with Removal to The Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30 o'clock Funeral Mass tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12 o'c followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to North Westmeath Hospice. House private please.

Tom's family, his beloved wife Yvonne, his children, John, Tom, Sandra, Anne, Freddie (Yvonne) and Jillian wish to thank and extend our gratitude to all who were such a great support to us in the past year. To those who guided us on the day of Tom's passing, Dr. Liam Dalton, Paramedics, Katherine Waldron and the kind staff of Mullingar Hospital. To Dr. Billy Waldron, Fr. Cyprian, Fr. Padraig Mc Mahon and Fr. Paul Crosbie for their support and prayers. To Tom's dear friend, Fr. Frank Monks who kindly celebrated mass in our home and for all his great kindness to us since. To our extended family, friends, colleagues and neighbours who offered us their condolences at Tom's removal and funeral mass, we are deeply appreciative of your support. A special thank you to Fr. Paul Crosbie for all his help and his wonderful eulogy reflecting Tom's life, and to all the priests who concelebrated with him on the day. To Bishop Michael Smith for his thoughtful words at Tom's Month's Mind Mass. To the gifted musicians and singers for such beautiful music throughout the Funeral Ceremonies. To the staff and clients of J.A. Shaw and Co., for their loyalty over 57 years of Tom's practise, and to Tom's colleagues and members of the Judiciary, the Law Society, the Midland Bar Association, the Solicitors Mutual Defence Fund, Class of UCD 1957 and all who travelled from the four corners of Ireland and beyond. To Mullingar Golf Club for their guard of honour, to Sr. Therese Mullen and Fr. Paul Connell for their prayers at the removal and burial ceremonies, the pupils of St. Finian's College for their guard of honour and to all at P.W. Shaw and Sons, Undertakers. For the hundreds of letters and calls reflecting on wonderful memories and appreciation of Tom's friendship and wise advice. We found these so moving and they continue to mean so much to us. We offer sincere thanks also to those who donated to the North Westmeath Hospice in Tom's memory. We miss him beyond words, but his spirit lives on in all of us. Mass to mark Tom's First Anniversary will take place on Sunday, August 26 in St. Paul's Church, Mullingar at 10.30am.
