MATTIMOE, Leo, (Lecarrow, Strandhill, Co. Sligo) Died January 12, 2016 - Úna, Meabh and Niall wish to express our sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised with us in so many ways on the sad loss of a much loved husband and Dad. To our wonderful relatives, neighbours and friends who helped and supported us throughout Leo's illness by visits, phone calls, prayers and practical help, a sincere thank you to all. Thank you to Fr. Niall Ahearne for your constant spiritual care and kindness to Leo and the consoling funeral Mass and graveside prayers. We thank the principals and teaching colleagues past and present Mercy College, Sligo for their loyalty to Leo with visits, phone calls, letters and prayers and for their presence and kindness at the time of his death. Thank you to Leanne and Shawana who represented Mercy College student body at the funeral Mass - Leo would be proud of you. Thank you to all for the lovely sympathy cards, letters, Mass cards and floral tributes. Thank you to all who paid tribute to Leo in repose and offered personal condolences. Those who attended the funeral Mass and graveside. A special thank you to all those who travelled long distances despite inclement weather. We extend a warm thank you to Anna for the lovely choir and hymns and to Patricia for lovely reading of Thanksgiving Prayers. To Eucharistic Ministers, Altar servers and gift bearers, Pall bearers and Sacristan. To all the choir members for support and friendship, heartfelt thanks. Sincere thank you to friends from Riverstown and district and Riverstown Heritage Centre for your friendship, support and presence throughout Leo's illness and death. To Anthony for your support and kindness to Leo throughout his illness. A heartfelt thank you. We thank Maura and O'Gara clan members for their love and support, Peter and the Carran walkers for friendship and support. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Justin Geoghegan, Professor Winters and caring staff, St. Vincents Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin. Mr. Eamonn Rogers and the caring, kind staff of Bon Secours Hospital, Galway. To Dr. Michéal Martin and all the wonderful staff, Day Oncology Unit, Sligo General Hospital for exceptional care and encouragement given to Leo and family, we extend our gratitude and appreciation to all. To Dr. Siobhain Toibin for your kind and personal care to Leo and the family and to all the staff, Strandhill surgery for help at all times. To proprietors Conan, Úna and staff, Strandhill Pharmacy for your courtesy, advice and help at all times, we thank you all. Thank you Dr. Jane Dorman for courteous house call. To Bayer nurse, Oonagh we extend our thanks. To John McDermott for your sensitive attention to the funeral arrangements, thank you John. To the gravediggers who prepared Leo's final resting place with such care. The Manager and staff, Sligo Park Hotel for efficiency and courtesy - we extend our thanks. To all our good neighbours, relatives and friends who brought food to the house and helped with the catering - we extend heartfelt thanks. Finally thank you to all who paid warm tributes to Leo on Social Media, each and all tributes touched our hearts. A thanksgiving Mass has been offered for your intentions.
