WHELAN, Brian (Clontarf, Ballsbridge and Old Belvedere RFC) peacefully June 7, 2020 in the special care of the nursing staff of Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, after a long illness suffered stoically with humour and without complaint. He is predeceased by his son Jack, and sadly missed by Olivia and his adored children Jenny, Tom and Hugo. He is also dearly missed by his sister Mairead, daughter in law Johanna, granddaughter Bowie, his brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends. Rest in Peace. No Flowers please. In accordance with Government Guidelines regarding public gatherings a private Funeral Mass will take place this (Wednesday) morning at 11.30 am in Church of the Sacred Heart Donnybrook. WHELAN - Brian, (Clontarf). As we approach Brian’s (First Anniversary, June 7) The Whelan family would like to thank all his relatives and friends for their condolences and kind words. We are eternally grateful to all the doctors, nurses and staff at St. James's Hospital and Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold's Cross for their care and attention to Brian. We would like to thank Fr. Leonard Maloney SJ and all the clergy who concelebrated his funeral Mass. We would like to express our gratitude to Niall O’Carroll who spoke so warmly and eloquently of Brian. We were overwhelmed to see so many of his friends and fellow club members, who lined up for his final journey through Old Belvedere Rugby Club.
Thank you to Fanagan Funeral Directors for their professionalism and friendship.
May he Rest in Peace with Jack.
